Helping a Friend
We spent our Saturday helping Wendy build a 3 1/2 x 30 foot rose bed. We started about 10:30 am that morning and didn't find til about 8 pm that night.
Drilling Pilot holes and assembling the sides.
Drilling pilot holes for the rebar that will hold the front wall stable.
Rebar ready to be hammered into the ground.
L brackets at the front corners.
Ready to screw on the inside posts on the front where the joints of the wood meet.
Time for dirt. This was 49 bags...but we needed more.
The last 48 bags.
Once we got to spreading dirt, Brian started trimming trees.
Finished Rose Bed with Roses!

Oak Mountian State Park
We spent our Sunday afternoon at Oak Mountain State Park hiking the trails. We got rained on towards the end of our walk but it was still a good afternoon. The streams were pretty with the cascading water due to the torrential downpour with had Saturday.
This is the treetop nature trail. Its a woodend trail of cages and stairs built to house hurt birds that can't be let back into the wild.

Second Time Around
Besides tshirt quilts I can't say that I have ever made the same pattern twice...until now. I have completed the piecing of my second Afghan Square Quilt. I made this one bigger than the last one. I have lots of left over strips of fabric from this one, so I am now piecing a simple rail fence pattern to use up the remaining fabric.

We took a trip today to the McWane Science Center this morning and early afternoon.
They were doing a sheep brain dissection lab for kids and we stood in to watch.
