Weekend Events

Friday night was a quiet night at the house watching a movie.  Brian worked on his computer and I worked on a quilt as we watched Ratatouille.  Saturday afternoon we went to JoAnn Fabric for some material and supplies.  Saturday night we went to dinner and a movie.  We saw G.I. Joe Retaliation and after the movie Brian posed for a picture with Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc.
Sunday afternoon I picked some of the first roses from the back yard.

Small Improvement...Big Difference

I always have problems mowing the grass next to the rock bed out front, because I end up throwing rocks everywhere with the weed eatter.

But I found a solution. This is the After picture from the picture above.
This picture is the other side by our front door.

Happy Birthday Gus!

Gus is 4 today!  Happy Birthday Gus Gus!

Sunday Funday

Sunday night we had a BBQ at our house for some of the athletic trainers we work with.  We ended up having a total of about 18 people at the house from 4-8:30pm.  The picture above is from our BBQ shopping trip on Friday night.  While everyone was here Gus was in heaven.  He had SO many people to play with and make friends with.  He played ball SO much that he wore out the pads on his front feet (much like you or I getting blisters that pop and the tender new skin is underneath).  Poor pup is walking very gingerly on the front two feet.

The Birthday Boy Goes Shopping

Friday night we took Gus shopping to pick out a birthday present.

He wanted to be in the middle of the bins picking his own toy.

A Saturday Out and About Birmingham, Alabama

We started our Saturday of site seeing at the Crossplex which is a volleyball, track & field, swimming & driving, and basketball arena sports complex.  The Crossplex with where Brian works at when he covers sporting events (I don't have any pictures of the Crossplex).  Our next stop was Railroad Park.  Railroad Park is an area downtown that has been revitalized into a beautiful downtown city park and they have built a new baseball stadium right off of it for our minor league team, the Birmingham Barons.  When we are at the downtown office for work Brian and I frequently go to the park for lunch at George's Boxcar Cafe.

The 3rd stop on our Saturday around Birmingham took us to the Civil Right Institute.  Pictures were not allowed inside the building, but I got the sign and a flower garden in the park next to it.

The last stop on our Saturday was to Vulcan Park.  The Vulcan is an icon that represents Birmingham as the city of steel.  The park is built on the mountain overlooking the city.  It actually give a really great view from up top.
Glen (Brian's Dad, Marsha (Brian's Mom), and Brian standing in front of the city view.

We had a great day and topped it off back at the house with a BBQ of ribs and salmon.

Barber Motorsports Museum

Brian's parents were in town this last weekend.  On Friday afternoon they went to the Barber Motorsports Museum.  I wasn't able to go because I had to work.
