We became Sam's Club Members on Wednesday.  Brian had seen a groupon deal for a 1 year membership at a discounted price and it came with a $20 gift card and 4 free coupons for certain food items.

Matt's Retirement Party!!

Matt is a great and wonderful friend that I used to work with at the University of Montevallo.  Last Friday we went to his retirement party at the university.  I'm excited for him and wish him the best, but I'm really going to miss him.  Matt is the person that took our engagement photos.

Wedding Registries!!!

Before we get busy with preseason sports and the school year we took a few days this week to complete our wedding registries.  We are register at Kohl's, Target, and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Wednesday night Brian and I met up with a friend in Montgomery to see a baseball game.

Birmingham Quilt Guild Christmas in July

The Birmingham Quilt Guild volunteers at the YWCA in July for Christmas in July.  It's a charity event where we donate our time and our sewing talents to make fleece headbands, jean purses, draft dodgers (rice filled draft stoppers for at the bottom of a door), and pillows.  All our group does is the sewing and then another group volunteers to stuff, trim, and finish up the items.  In December at Christmas time less fortunate youth are able to come in to pick out Christmas presents to give their friends and family.  We were able to a total of 668 sewed items from 9:30am-2:30pm and several people took lots of items home to finish.  We had a very fun and enjoyable day...and I got to meet lots of nice faces from the guild!!

The Proposal.....

This was the view we had Saturday night up on the deck of the ship.

 I knew he had the ring but I didn't think he was going to propose on the boat.  The wind was bad so my hair doesn't look so great!  Brian's hair looks good!!

 The proposal actually happened on the front bow of the ship where it is completely dark.  Pictures wouldn't have shown up out there.  So we came down to the lido deck.

2014 Carnival Caribbean Cruise

We had an amazing time on the cruise!!  We went to Cozmel, Mexico on Tuesday, Belize City, Belize on Wednesday, Roatan Hondurus on Thursday, and Cayman Islands on Friday.  The weather was pretty great the whole time expect for some rough water and sprinkles on Thursday in Roatan, but that didn't keep us from the beach.

Red Frog Pub was a bar on the ship that we spent a lot of time in because it had a shuffle board table and other games.

This water slide was way cool for a water slide on a cruise ship.   It's called the Green Thunder. The first day I tried it was on Wednesday while Brian, Darryl, and Sheena were out snorkeling for the day.  Once you get to the top (it was a great scenic view) you climb into a a clear tube, stand on a green metal plate where the operator instructs you to cross your legs and cross your hands over your chest, and then fully closes the clear tube door.   So now I'm standing in the tube anxiously awaiting the metal plate to drop out and the operator pauses before pushing the button...I think he does this for dramatic effect.  When the plate finally dropped out from under me I think I hyperventilated the whole way down.  Luckily I remembered right before I got to the splash pool at the bottom to hold my breath or I would have swallowed a mouth full.

 Love all the towel animals.  Every night the room steward leaves a different towel animal on your bed as they turn down your bed.

 Sky Chair Lift in Roatan that took us to the beach.  It was a great scenic view.

 Belize City was a tender port, which means the cruise ship can't dock at a land port because it's to shallow and would run aground.  So instead they drop anchor off the coast and tender us in on water taxis.  This is a view of a light house as I tendered into Belize on Wednesday.
