Said "Yes" To The Dress
Last Saturday I went to Bella Couture, one of our wedding dress shops here in Birmingham to try on a particular dress. The dress I went to try on was a dress a friend of mine wore a few years back and I liked it a lot. My Maids of Honor thought it would be a good idea to try it on to find out if it really was an option and of course it wasn't. The dress was awful on me!
While I was there that Saturday I tried on about 8 more dresses and one stood out. So I went back on Thursday and tried that one dress on again along with 8 or 9 more again. When we had tried on everything I asked if I could put my favorite on again. Once I got in front on the mirror I looked back at my friend that went with me and my dress attendant and told them that, "this is it, this is the one".
We are still getting married in July 2016 and I know it is really early to have the dress, but I got the dress on an amazing off the rack sale.

Holding on to a Big Secret
Holding onto a big secret is so hard when you want to tell people about it. Brian and I, for work purposes, have been holding a big secret. He has accepted a job at the University of Michigan. For those of you who shiver and say "Brrr", I'm right there with you. His last day at work here in Birmingham is Friday and he moves up with his car full of stuff on Saturday. He will start work on Monday and will have his first road trip with softball on the 27th. I will remain in Birmingham for now and am not sure of an exact move up date for me yet. I am currently looking for a job but athletic training jobs seem to be in short supply.
Once he figures out how much snow they get this is the look I'm gonna get. "What have you humans done!?"
Here is our apartment. It's a 3 bedroom apartment North of Ann Arbor, MI.

A Morning Full of Sewing
A friend of mine asked me to make a baby blanket for her nephew. This is a special baby blanket because the center square is a square cut from a sweatshirt that belonged to her Dad.
Her Dad passed away a few years back and she wanted her nephew to have a piece of his Grandpa.

A Quilting Lesson on Piecing...
My Sunday afternoon was spent teaching a friend how to piece a t-shirt quilt. Andrea came over for lunch and managed to get the center section of this t-shirt quilt put together. Andrea finished putting on the border today. It is a Christmas present for her Dad. The t-shirts are her Dad's fraternity shirts from college.
