Merry Christmas!

We have had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas!  We opened up gifts from Santa this morning or should I say Gus opened all the gifts for us!  Gus really had a good time opening the Christmas presents this year.

This afternoon Brian and I cooked a Christmas dinner of apple onion garlic stuff cornish hens, 2 types of dressing, green bean casserole, homemade orange cranberry sauce, homemade cheddar gouda mac n cheese, and mini cheesecakes with cherry fruit topping from Cherry Republic.

Poor Little Gus

Gus went to the vet yesterday for a teeth cleaning and he has had an bump on his back for about 2 months now.  He lost his last little tooth on the top in the front.  It has been loose for a while now and I knew he was going to loose it.  The bump on his back was an infected sebaceous gland.  They cut out the infection and gave him 4 stitches. 

One of the health problems of the yorkie breed is bad teeth.  Over the last 7 years he has only had his teeth cleaned 3 times and each time he has lost at least one or more little teeth in the front.  Yesterday he lost the last little tooth he had on the top.  He now has a toothless grin on top.

Baby Quilt Update

Brooke is being induced tomorrow!  I am a little further along with the baby blanket.  I have the center portion of the quilt put together and now I am working on adding the border.  Once I get the border on I can begin the quilting.  I wasn't sure about this pattern and colors until I got it sewed together.  I think it is going to look good when I am done.

Labor Day Weekend

We started the weekend off with some apple cider donuts and apple cider from the Dexter Cider Mill.

 Friends arrived Friday night and spent the weekend with us.  We all went to the UM vs. Hawaii Football game.

Our Friends left Sunday afternoon and Sunday night I started working on a baby quilt for my good friend, Brooke.  She is due on September 15th.

 The outside border for the quilt will have this border of colorful strips.

Helping A Friend Move

We helped Sheena and Darryl get Sheena's stuff moved into Darryl's house on Saturday.  Gus came with us to help out. 

Gus is pouting because we had to shut the window due to rain.

 We made a trip to Lowe's to get stuff to mount 2 TV's on the wall about the fireplace at their house.

 We did pretty good until the end when he was getting impatient and wanted picked up.

 Don't know what he thought he was doing on Brian here.  Out of no where he hopped up on the couch and ran up on Brian's shoulder.

 Brian and I marinated steaks to put on Darryl's grill for dinner.

Brian's Brother Comes to Visit

Last weekend Chris came to visit.  While he was here we had a pretty low key.  Friday night we went out to eat and enjoyed the Ann Arbor area.  Saturday morning we had breakfast and took Gus to the park.  Saturday afternoon we had planned to take the kayaks on the river, but due to thunderstorms we stayed in to play video games.  Saturday night we took the kayaks out on Whitmore Lake.  

We did some Geocaching while we were in the park that morning with Gus.
