First game in the Big House

Brian and I attended our first home Michigan Football game in the famous Big House. Here is the view from our seats in Michigan Stadium, also known as the Big House.

Just some random fun facts about the Big House.......

The University of Michigan Football team originally played at Ferry Field.  Ferry Field could seat  46,000

A new football stadium, Michigan Stadium in 1927.  Capacity: 72,000

The most attended football game in North American: Michigan vs Notre Dame 2013

(attendance announced; 115,000)


The Big Chill at the Big House set the world record for number of spectators at a hockey game with 113,411.  The Wolverines defeated the  (Michigan State) Spartans 5-0.

The NHL 2014 Winter Classic, between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings with an official attendance of 105,491, a record for a NHL hockey game

A 2014 International Champions Cup soccer match between Real Madrid and Manchester United was hosted at the Big House.  109,318 attended the match, a record crowd for a soccer match in the United States.
