1867 World Tournament of Historic Baseball at Greenfield Village

We attended the World Tournament of Historic Base Ball at Greenfield Village.  We learned the rules of 1867 baseball, how the game has changed before/since then, and some of the history of baseball.

Greenfield Village is home to two clubs; the Lah-Di-Dahs and the Nationals.

On the grounds of Greenfield Village, hey had historic games such as cricket and bean bag tosses.

The game has a lot of the same mannerisms as it did in 1867 including the pitcher having to pitch the ball to the batter.  You will notice that no one wears a glove in the field.  Some other things you will notice, is that there is no sliding, nor running through first base on a hit ball.

An orginial jersey, ball, rule book of the times.
